Waypoints upload

  1. Download GPSDump
  2. Go to Registered & signed up pilots
  3. Find your name in the list and download your waypoints (“.wpt”)
  4. Open GPSDUMP.
  5. Choose File –> Open wpts or press Ctrl-W
  6. Select and open the waypoints file you downloaded in 3). It should contain your name
  7. Check the waypoints list. At the bottom there should be a CIVLID, a COMPID and a PILTID
  8. Select ALL waypoints. You can do this with mouse, keyboard, or by pressing Ctrl-A
  9. If you have a Garmin USB, at this stage, you can just go to Wpts –> Send to Garmin (USB). See as it uploads, exit, check your GPS. You can stop here
  10. If you have a serial GPS (Flytec, Flymaster, Brauniger, MLR, Digifly), unplug it now.
  11. Go to Misc –> Set COM port. Write down the list of available COM ports. E.g. COM1 / COM2
  12. Plug in your GPS. Go again to Misc –> Set COM port. Compare the new list with the old list. There should be one more. Select the new COM port.
  13. Now just do Wpts –> Send to XXXX (ID + Name). XXXX should be the brand of your GPS

  1. Q: I am limited to 50/100 waypoints. Which ones should I drop ?
A: Tough luck. We recommend you drop the GPS. Else you should drop the waypoint far away from Disentis in priority. The farther we shall go, the fewer points we’ll need. Your paper map will contain all the waypoint definitions, you can enter them manually IF you need them. In any case, keep the COMPID, PILTID and CIVLID waypoints.

    Send to flymaster (only name)
    Send to flymaster (only ID)
Send to flymaster (ID + name)

J’ai choisi la dernière option, juste?

    Merci

    Ivan

  3. J’ai un problème en voulant uploader les .wpt sur un Garmin USB 62S.
Fonction send .wpt to Garmin USB dans GPS Dump: Code d’erreur: E406 No waypoint protocol defined

    Une idée?
    Au secour!

    1. Finalement j’ai fait comme ça:

Use program GPSdump to open WPT faile and save it as GPX.
Coneect your device in Mass Storage mode.
Copy GPX file to X:\GARMIN\GPX catalog on your device

J’ai bien les waypoint dans mon 62S mais je ne suis pas sur que la méthode soit correcte.

Sur mes précédants BPO, j’avais téléchargé un .gdb fournit par l’organisation.
